Governor of Victoria, Australia - 13/09/2016

On Tuesday, 13/09/2016, Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AM, Governor of Victoria, Australia, attended the daily Last Post under the Menin Gate. The Governor was accompanied by Major General David McLachlan AO (Retd) State President, Returned and Services League of Australia (Victorian Branch) Inc., who is a very good friend of the Last Post Assocation. 


Tickets Concert 'The Great War Remembered' - 11/11/2016.

On Armistice Day (11/11/2016) at 04.30 and 7.30 p.m. the Last Post Association will organize the 13th edition of the ‘The Great War Remembered' Concert in St. Martin's Cathedral in Ieper. This concert seeks to turn back the clock 100 years, immersing the audience in the atmosphere of the Great War through a selection of instrumental and vocal music, combined with original First World War images.

Band Grenadier Guards - 04/09/2016


The buglers of the Last Post Association had the honour to sound the Last Post at the 360th anniversary of the Grenadier Guards at Brugge on Friday, 2 September 2016. On Sunday, 4 September 2016, the Band of the Grenadier Guards attended the daily Last Post ceremony at Ieper. And a wreath was laid at the bottom of panel 9 on which the missing fallen Grenadier Guards of the Great War are remembered.

The Last Post Association is an independent, voluntary, non-profit organisation. It was the Association that first founded the Last Post Ceremony back in 1928, and it is the Association that is still responsible for the day-to-day organisation of this unique act of homage. Thanks to Michel Ghesquière

Michel Ghesquière has a long history within the Last Post Association. From 1983 untill 2003, he was one of our buglers. Since 2003, he is one of our ceremonial assistants who help us in delevering the daily ceremony. Michel has now been inactive for a while. Chairman Benoit Mottrie and honorary chairman Guy Gruwez recently handed over a gift as a mark of special appreciation for his continuous support. All the best Michel.
