Many thanks for allowing our school to particpate in the ceremony on Wed 25 Aug. I know that the group were very proud and honoured to be involved.

I visited ypres and the menin gate in March of 2010 to lay a wreath at Tyne Cot cemetery in memory of my great uncle John Deakin who was killed in action on October 22nd 1917. It took me many months to find out where John was laid to rest, he was one of the many missing, and his name is inscribed on the memorial wall. For me it was an emotional visit, to see the thousands of war graves. We must never forget those who we have lost, those who fought and came back, and those who are still fighting for their country. God bless them all, and thank you to the people of Ypres who have never forgotten.

Despite attending your daily Act of Remembrance, many times since I was a child, it never fails to leave me feeling humble. In memory Sgt. George Edwards, Royal Surrey Regiment.

I learned from my mum, that my Uncle, my grandad's brother Thomas W Ryles was named on Panel 37. Then I learned my great-grandad Headley, was named on Panel 36. I managed to visit in 2008, for the 90th Aniversary ceremonies. I was greatly moved & touched. Please keep up your excellent work.
