The daily tribute

This daily tribute - performed by a team of local buglers - serves to honour the memory of the soldiers of the British Empire, who fought and died in the immortal Ypres Salient during the First World War. It is the aim of the Last Post Association to maintain this ceremony in perpetuity.

Book of honour

I laid a wreath at the Menin Gate last month in memory of my great uncle whose name is on the memorial as one of the missing (Private H Lloyd, Kings Liverpool Regiment). I would like to thank the Association and the local people for remembering the fallen in this way every day. I was moved to tears at the ceremony but was touched by the respectful way in which it was conducted. Thank you also for giving me the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of my family. I was most grateful.
