In 2010 werd voor het eerst gekozen voor een provinciale wedstrijd, in samenwerking met de provincie West-Vlaanderen, voor alle leerlingen van het laatste jaar secundair onderwijs uit alle richtingen. Ook in 2011 werd voor deze formule geopteerd.<\/p><p>Om diverse vormen van creativiteit een kans te geven, konden de deelnemers zowel een literair-creatieve als een beeldend-creatieve opdracht maken en met het thema van de wedstrijd &#8220;Ik was 17 in 1917&#8221; was het voor de studenten mogelijk zich te identificeren en zich in te leven in de periode 14-18. Door deze combinatie werden heel wat uitmuntende werken ingestuurd.<\/p><p>De preselectie hiervoor gebeurde door de scholen zelf. Elke school selecteerde per categorie twee leerlingen. Uit deze preselectie koos de jury dan de eindwinnaars.
